«The increase in the level of production in November 2023 compared to the same period last year is connected with the removal of blast furnace No. 2 from the hot preservation mode and the adjustment of the operating mode of three blast furnaces,» the message states.

In January-November 2023, production output at Zaporizhstal increased by 44% year-on-year – up to 5.53 million tons. In particular, the plant produced:

  • pig iron – 2.45 million tons (+31.3% y/y);
  • steel – 2.24 million tons (+57.6%);
  • rolled goods – 1.85 million tons (+47.9%).

In March 2023, Zaporizhstal took blast furnace No. 2 out of forced hot mothballing. At the end of May this year, the plant announced the shutdown of blast furnace No. 3 for a category II overhaul. Investments in the restoration of the unit were planned at UAH 200 million. On June 19, the plant announced the completion of the blast furnace repair and the launch of the blast furnace blower.
