During the period, Ukraine imported goods worth $16 billion, and exported $10 billion

Ukraine’s trade turnover in January-March 2024 amounted to $26 billion. This is according to the State Customs Service.

During the first three months of 2024, Ukraine imported $16 billion worth of goods and exported $10 billion. At the same time, taxed imports amounted to $13.8 billion, which is 86% of the total volume of imported goods.

Among the countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods: China – $3 billion, Poland – $1.6 billion, and Germany – $1.3 billion. Ukraine exported the most goods to Poland – $992 million, Spain – $813 million, and China – $789 million.

In the total volume of goods imported in January-March 2024, 65% were

  • machinery, equipment and transport – $5.3 billion
  • chemical products – $3 billion;
  • fuel and energy products – $2 billion.

The top three most exported goods from Ukraine were food products ($6.5 billion), metals and steel products ($1.1 billion), and mineral products ($924 million).

UAH 94.4 million was paid to the budget during customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties.

In 2023, Ukraine’s trade turnover amounted to $99.4 billion. In particular, the country imported $63.5 billion worth of goods and exported $36 billion. Taxed imports amounted to $52.6 billion, which is 83% of the total volume of imported goods. The largest share of imports was accounted for by machinery, equipment and transport ($19.8 billion), and exports were food products ($21.8 billion).
