In January-May, Ukraine’s pipe production decreased by 16%

In January-May 2022, Ukrainian pipe enterprises reduced pipe production by 16%, to 176.3 thousand tons. In May, pipe producers increased output by 2.5 times compared to April, to 45 thousand tons, UAprom reported.

The following enterprises operated in May:

  • Nikopol Seamless Pipes Plant (growth by 2.6 times);
  • Centravis (+45%);
  • Trubostal (-20%);
  • Novomoskovsk Plant (+2.3 times).

“God results of January-February continue to support the statistics of the pipe sector. At the same time, the new export supply chains through the EU seaports ensured the growth of production for the second month already,” the report says.

In 2021, Ukrainian pipe companies increased pipe production by 15.1%, to 980.7 thousand tons against 2020.

Earlier GMK Center reported that Ukraine’s Centravis launched pipes production for the automotive industry and was preparing to increase supplies of its products to the United States after the abolishment of 25% tariff on metal supplies to the country for one year. Also, Metinvest Group considers the possibility of supplying steel products to the US market after the US decision to cancel 25% duties for Ukrainian metal products.
