US extends duty on round welded pipes from four countries

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the results of a review of anti-dumping duties on certain non-alloy steel round welded pipes from Brazil, Mexico, South Korea and Taiwan. SteelOrbis informs about it.

The revision also applied to round carbon steel welded pipes from Taiwan.

The DOC concluded that the withdrawal of anti-dumping duties on products from these countries is likely to result in continued or repeated dumping.

Thus, the weighted average dumping margin for Brazil will be up to 103.38%, Mexico – up to 7.32%, South Korea – up to 1.2%, for Taiwan – up to 27.65%. The weighted average dumping margin for carbon steel round welded pipes from Taiwan will be 8.91%.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in March 2023, the United States extended anti-dumping duties on cold drawn pipes from six countries – China, Germany, India, Italy, South Korea and Switzerland, to prevent the continuation or repetition of dumping and the negative impact on domestic producers.

In April 2023 the United States extended the validity of countervailing duty on some cold-drawn mechanical carbon and alloy steel tubes from China.

Also, the USA extended the anti-dumping duty on import of wire rod from carbon and some alloy steel from 10 countries. The object of the investigation was the import of these products from Belarus, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Italy, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, Turkiye, the UAE and the UK. For Ukraine, the dumping margin was 44.03%.
