Ukraine’s trade turnover amounted to $16.8 billion in January-February

During the period, Ukraine imported goods worth $10 billion, and exported $6.8 billion

In January-February 2024, Ukraine’s trade turnover increased by 2% compared to the same period in 2023 – to $16.8 billion. This is evidenced by data from the State Customs Service.

During the first two months of 2024, Ukraine imported $10 billion worth of goods and exported $6.8 billion. At the same time, taxed imports amounted to $8.8 billion, which is 88% of the total volume of imported goods.

Among the countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods: China – $2 billion, Poland – $1.1 billion, and Germany – $769 million. Ukraine exported the most goods to Poland – $649 million, Spain – $624 million, and China – $504 million.

In January-February 2024, 67% of the total volume of goods imported was exported:

• machines, equipment and transport – $3.5 billion;
• products of the chemical industry – $1.8 billion;
• fuel and energy products – $1.3 billion.

The three most exported goods from Ukraine included food products – $4.5 billion, metals and their products – $726 million, mineral products – $587 million

47.96 million UAH were paid to the budget during the customs clearance of the export of goods subject to an export duty.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2023 turnover of Ukraine amounted to $99.4 billion. In particular, during the year, the country imported goods worth $63.5 billion, and exported $36 billion. Taxed imports amounted to $52.6 billion, which is 83% of the total volume of imported goods. The largest share of imports fell on machines, equipment and transport – $19.8 billion, and exports – on food products ($21.8 billion).
