Metinvest’s Zaporizhzhia enterprises paid UAH 2.1 billion in taxes in 2023

Revenues to local budgets amount to over 818 million UAH

In 2023, Metinvest’s Zaporizhzhia-based enterprises – Zaporizhstal, Zaporizvognetryv, Zaporizhkoks and Zaporizhzhia Foundry and Mechanical Plant (ZLMZ) – paid a total of more than UAH 2.1 billion in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels. The press service of Zaporizhstal informed GMK Center.

In the structure of taxes and duties in 2023, the largest payments were made in terms of the amount of payments of the single personal income tax and the single social contribution. Environmental and land taxes also account for a significant share of payments. Revenues to local budgets amounted to over UAH 818 million.

«Underutilized capacity, shortage of skilled personnel, blockade of seaports and other challenges are the realities of 2023 in which Ukrainian steelmakers worked. Nevertheless, every second ton of pig iron, steel and rolled products produced in Ukraine last year was made by Zaporizhstal. This is our steel support for Ukraine on its path to victory, so we continue to work to feed the national economy, support the country’s defense capabilities, provide employment for industry professionals and take care of the team, finance and implement humanitarian projects,» said Roman Slobodianiuk, CEO of Zaporizhstal.

In 2022, Metinvest’s Zaporizhzhia plants paid UAH 3.4 billion in taxes and duties, with almost UAH 820 million of this amount transferred to local budgets.

Zaporizhkoks, Zaporizvognetryv, ZLMZ and Zaporizhstal refused tax benefits worth more than UAH 350 million in favor of the state during the martial law. Local budgets received more than UAH 200 million of this amount.

As GMMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest, including its associates and joint ventures, paid UAH 14.6 billion in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels in Ukraine in 2023. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the company has allocated UAH 4.8 billion to help Ukraine and its citizens, including more than UAH 2.5 billion for the needs of the army.
