Zaporizhstal handed over a batch of medicines worth UAH 5 million to the city’s hospitals

Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works handed over another batch of medicines with a total value of about UAH 5 million to the city’s hospitals. The aid was provided through «Saving Lives» humanitarian project, implemented by the Metinvest group. It is stated in the message of Metinvest.Media.

Six city hospitals of Zaporizhzhia received approximately 25,000 packages of medical preparations – the list was agreed with medical facilities. They were helped to collect and deliver by international donors, Dignitas Fund and the president of Protez Hub, Antonina Kumka.

The list includes antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, painkillers, antibacterial agents, neuroleptics, local anesthetics, etc. They will mostly be used for therapeutic treatment, emergency care, operations and resuscitation.

«Zaporizhzhia medics stood up to protect the lives and health of Ukrainians in the front-line city, they did not leave their workplaces. Metinvest Group and Zaporizhstal have always provided assistance to doctors in their vital work. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has created the humanitarian project «Saving Lives», and one of its directions is providing hospitals with medical equipment and medicines. Thanks to the involvement of partners from all over the world, we systematically deliver the necessary medicines to Ukrainian hospitals,» noted the CEO of the plant Roman Slobodyanuk.

In total, during the 17 months of the full-scale invasion of hospitals, the cities of Metinvest’s presence – Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Kamianske, Pokrovsk and Avdiyivka – received medical equipment, medicines and consumables worth more than UAH 200 million from the company.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in June 2023,  Metinvest group through the military initiative «Saving Lives» of Rinat Akhmetov handed over to medics of Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) 30 ambulances worth approximately UAH 18 million.
