Zaporizhabrasive has directed more than 7 million UAH to help the army since the beginning of the war

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, since February 24, 2022, PJSC Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant directed UAH 7.36 million to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), payments to military personnel and their families. GMK Center was informed about this at the enterprise.

In particular, Zaporizhabrasive promptly responded to the needs of the defenders of the country at the beginning of the invasion. Pallets, plastic tanks for the organization of temporary firing points were handed over to the army, spare parts and small pots were made from steel recovered from the plant’s reserves. Covering the most urgent needs, the company was not always able to document this assistance.

In general, the company allocated more than UAH 1 million from the total amount to support the army – these funds went to the production of hedgehogs, payment for transport repairs, the purchase of tools, spare parts, special clothing, diesel fuel and gasoline, etc.

Zaporizhabrasive also takes care of military personnel and their families – the amount of payments since the beginning of the full-scale invasion amounted to more than UAH 6.3 million. In particular, from April 2022 to March 2023, the company allocated UAH 5.46 million for monthly material assistance in the amount of UAH 6,500 to its workers who joined the ranks of the Ukrainian army. More than UAH 270,000 went to material assistance to employees who were called up for military service and were wounded while defending the country.

«The support of our army is now an important component of national security, therefore, from the first day of the war, we direct part of the company’s resources to the defense of our country and make our contribution to the future victory. As a responsible business, we systematically help the Ukrainian army, and this help is multifaceted – from providing products of our own production to financial payments to employees of our company who are currently serving in the ranks of the armed forces. Today, about 100 employees of the plant are protecting the country,» said the operational director of Zaporizhabrasive Svitlana Dubinina.

Zaporizhabrasive is the only producer of grinding materials in Ukraine and one of the largest producers of abrasives in Eastern Europe. The company produces a wide range of products based on modern technologies. The plant continues to work even in the conditions of a large-scale war, supporting the Ukrainian economy.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest a year from the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion directed more than 3.1 billion UAH for aid to the country, more than 1.6 billion of which are for the needs of the army through Rinat Akhmetov’s «Steel Front» military initiative.

Also, Centravis for a year of full-scale war in Ukraine provided assistance in the amount of more than UAH 9 million. The company directed the main part of the amount to the needs of the mobilized employees of the enterprise, as well as the security and defense forces.
