United Coal Company joined the humanitarian project of Metinvest

The United Coal Company, an American coal company of the Metinvest Group, joined the «Saving Lives» humanitarian project. Metinvest.Media reports about it.

Metinvest involves its international assets to expand the support sources for the project. In particular, the United Coal Company (UCC), a coking coal producer operating in three American states, joined the humanitarian mission. UCC created the United Coal Foundation (UCF) charity fund, which takes care of fundraising and humanitarian aid in the USA to support colleagues in the company and all Ukrainians.

Over the course of UCF’s activity, more than $300,000 has already been collected. Contributions came from 74 donors – companies and private individuals from the USA. The funds will go to the charity fund «Do it together» to implement the tasks of the «Saving Lives» project, primarily providing people with products, hygiene products, medicines and consumables.

In general, during the existence of the «Saving Lives» project, which has been implemented by Metinvest in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, since the beginning of the war, about 100 companies from all over the world have joined it. Their financial assistance has already amounted to 1.7 million euros. More than 250,000 Ukrainians have already received humanitarian aid.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in June 2022, the information and analytical center GMK Center signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saving Lives. The agreement was signed in order to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and help the population of Ukraine. The memorandum includes the implementation of joint projects, in particular, informing on the humanitarian activities of the Saving Lives Foundation – to attract new partners and increase assistance opportunities.

As GMK Center wrote before, the «Saving Lives» project, started cooperation with the international supermarket chain ALDI. A large batch of products will be purchased from the new partner at the producer’s prices. It will be enough to form 50,000 humanitarian kits for residents of the frontline regions of Ukraine.
