Ukraine reduced production of ferroalloys by 2% in Q1 2022

According to the results of January-March, ferroalloy enterprises of Ukraine reduced the production of ferroalloys by 2%, to 186 thousand tons. Silicomanganese production increased by 15.8%, to 157,4 thousand tons. The production of ferromanganese decreased by 64.3%, to 14.67 thousand tons, ferrosilicon production increased by 4.2%, to 12.56 thousand tons.

This was reported to GMK Center by the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Manufacturers (UkrFA).

In January-March, the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant increased production by 15,5%, to 148.9 thousand tons. Zaporizhzhya Ferroalloy Plant during the same period reduced production by 13.2%, to 37. 5 thousand tons.

In January-March, the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant reduced the production of silicomanganese by 17.3%, to 106.6 thousand tons, and the production of ferromanganese and other ferroalloys by 54.6%, to 5.45 thousand tons. In particular, the production of ferromanganese was almost 4.97 thousand tons.

In three months, Zaporizhzhya Ferroalloy Plant reduced the production of silicomanganese by 26.7%, to 13.89 thousand tons, ferromanganese by 15.9%, to 9.7 thousand tons. At the same time, the production of ferrosilicon increased by 4.2%, to 12,56 thousand tons, and metallic manganese – by 97.1%, to 1.38 thousand tons.

In 2021, ferroalloy enterprises of Ukraine increased production by 15% compared to 2020, up to 858.7 thousand tons. Production of ferrosilicon increased by 44.1%, to 87.6 thousand tons, metallic manganese – by 2.8 times, to 7.75 thousand tons.

In early March, the Nikopol Plant transferred Q1 2022 taxes to the public budgets t of about UAH 400 million.

Earlier GMK Center reported that since the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Zaporizhzhya Ferroalloy Plant team has been helping to prepare its city for defense and to resolve humanitarian issues. In addition, the plant has started the production of anti-tank hedgehogs and field furnaces.
