In July 2022, Ukrainian steel enterprises reduced the export of semi-finished products by 64% compared to the same period in 2021 – to 74.4 thousand tons. The revenue of enterprises from exports during this period decreased by 85.8% – to $54.2 million. This is evidenced by State Customs Service’s data.
In January-July 2022, the export of semi-finished products amounted to 1.5 million tons, which is 64% less than in the same period last year. In monetary terms, exports decreased by 59.3%, to $955 million.
The main importer of semi-finished products from Ukraine is Bulgaria (21.68% of deliveries in monetary terms). Italy is in the second place (14.75%), and Turkey is in the third place (11.2%).
At the same time, Ukraine imported 5.52 thousand tons of semi-finished products in 7 months. This is 56.8% less compared to January-July 2021. In monetary terms, imports of semi-finished products decreased by 55.2%, to $3.58 million. Imports were made from the Russian Federation (98.49% of supplies), China (0.25%) and Romania (1.23%).
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2021 export of semi-finished products from Ukraine decreased by 9.5% to 6.8 million tons y-o-y. In monetary terms, exports increased by 48.8%, to $4.1 billion.
The main importers of Ukrainian semi-finished products in 2021 were Italy (30.9%), Turkey (12.8%) and the Dominican Republic (8%).
