Metinvest has handed over 1.1 million humanitarian kits to Ukrainians since the beginning of the war

Since the start of the full-scale war, Metinvest’s humanitarian hub at Zaporizhstal has assembled and delivered 1.1 million food and hygiene kits to Ukrainians. In 2024 alone, the company’s volunteers prepared about 144 thousand humanitarian packages for war-affected citizens. This is stated in a press release by Metinvest.Media.

This assistance is provided under the Saving Lives program of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the Saving Lives humanitarian project created by Metinvest in coordination with the Foundation. Residents of Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipro, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa and other regions are receiving the aid.

“The humanitarian distribution center based at Zaporizhstal focuses its efforts on supporting those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. We strive to provide basic needs for residents of frontline regions and internally displaced persons and help them overcome the difficulties caused by the war. The Hub continues its important mission: In 2025, we plan to form at least 100,000 humanitarian kits for Ukrainians,” said Natalia Gaidukova, coordinator of the Humanitarian Hub.

The volunteers of Zaporizhstal carefully compile the packages taking into account the needs of each group of people. They include long-term storage products, baby food, medicines, hygiene products and household items.

Since the launch of the hub, about 500 volunteers from Metinvest’s Zaporizhzhia operations have joined the initiative. More than 3,000 vehicles were used to deliver the aid.

Over the three years of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest Group has allocated UAH 8.4 billion to support Ukraine. A significant portion of these funds, UAH 4.4 billion, was transferred to the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of the Steel Front initiative.

Metinvest remains the largest taxpayer in the industry: in 2024 alone, the company transferred UAH 19.8 billion to budgets of all levels, accounting for 61% of the total taxes in the steel industry.
