The company continues to help the army, support the economy and prepare for post-war recovery
Over the three years of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest Group has allocated UAH 8.4 billion to support Ukraine. A significant portion of these funds – UAH 4.4 billion – was transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the Steel Front initiative, the company said in a press release.
“From the first day of the full-scale invasion and three years later, we continue to fight for Ukraine. Despite the challenges of wartime, Metinvest has managed not only to survive, but also to maintain its status as an export leader, a pillar of the country and one of the largest donors to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. All of this is thanks to the contribution of each Metinvest employee in Ukraine and abroad. We are united by a shared goal — to bring victory closer through all available means. And following that, to become the foundation for post-war reconstruction,” said Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of the company.
Despite the constant shelling and occupation of its facilities in Mariupol and Avdiivka, Metinvest has maintained operations in Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia and Kamianske. In 2025, the company plans to invest UAH 5.7 billion in the development of its mining and processing plants and UAH 2.5 billion in the production of Kametstal.
Metinvest remains the largest taxpayer in the industry: in 2024 alone, the company paid UAH 19.8 billion to budgets of all levels, accounting for 61% of the total taxes in the steel industry.
The company systematically supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine, having already provided the military with 679 mobile shelters, command posts, 30 mine trawls, 300 protective screens for military equipment, 31,500 first aid kits and turnstiles, 7,700 drones, 2,000 thermal imagers and 650 vehicles. Metinvest has also created a carapace to protect the crew of the Patriot air defense system, supports the production of armor plates and strengthens defensive lines by building more than 200 km of fortifications.
More than 8,000 employees of the company serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The company has created support, rehabilitation and employment programs for them. Metinvest’s enterprises have 4,000 vacancies for veterans and provide free training and psychological assistance. The humanitarian project Saving Lives is available for employees and has helped 516 thousand Ukrainians. Medical facilities received equipment worth UAH 9.5 million, and 140 military and civilians have already been supported in rehabilitation projects.
Metinvest is developing the Steel Dream project, a concept for rebuilding housing and social infrastructure after the war. Together with its partners, the company has already repaired shelters in Kryvyi Rih schools and renovated medical facilities in Kamianske.
Even in the difficult conditions of war, Metinvest is investing in the future by helping the army, supporting the economy and preparing for Ukraine’s recovery.
