Metinvest handed over Elf long-range UAV to the defenders of Ukraine

Metinvest Group, as part of the Steel Front military initiative, handed over the Elf long-range drone to the defenders of Ukraine. This is stated in the press release of Metinvest.Media.

“Air eyes for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is one of the main vectors for providing defenders from Metinvest. After all, drones help to detect the enemy at a distance without endangering the fighters. The more technological birds the Ukrainian military will have, the more effective their actions on the front line will be,” the message says.

Drone Elf has reliable navigation and is able to cover 100 km in the sky. The small size of the UAV allows it to remain invisible to enemy air forces, and navigation equipment determines the coordinates of the enemy with an accuracy of 1 m.

In addition to technical parameters, the most important characteristics of the UAV are compactness and speed of launch and collection, because in the field you need to act as quickly as possible. The armed forces already use the aircraft for reconnaissance and artillery adjustment.

Earlier, Metinvest handed over to the military defending Avdiivka and Bakhmut modern military equipment for detecting and destroying enemy drones with a total cost of UAH 1 million.

As GMK Center reported earlier, from February 24, 2022, the company sent more than 3.1 billion UAH to help the country, more than 1.6 billion of which – for the needs of the army through the military initiative Steel Front of Rinat Akhmetov. During the year of the war, Metinvest became one of the largest private donors of the Ukrainian army.

The company has donated more than 150,000 body armors, 25,000 helmets and 123 mobile shelters to the front. The total number of drones provided to the defenders amounted to 1.2 thousand units. Also, more than 320 vehicles went to the front, including ambulances, 273 generators and EcoFlow, and 1.7 thousand thermal imagers.
