Metinvest handed over cars and drones worth UAH 18 million to the defenders of the country

Metinvest Group handed over another batch of aid to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. This is stated in the Metinvest.Media’s messages.

As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative, the company handed over 10 Autel drones and 10 Volkswagen Transporter four-wheel drive vehicles to servicemen. They will be used to monitor the Ukrainian border.

In addition, 20 Fiat Ducato-based ambulances will go to the front – they are not only intended for border guards, such cars will also be received by the Main Directorate of MID and Special Operations Forces. The total cost of this batch of cars and drones amounted to UAH 18 million.

According to Oleksandr Vodovoz, head of the project office of the Metinvest Group’s CEO, border guards work in mobile groups with special monitoring equipment in those areas of the border where there are no observation points.

“All-wheel drive cars are required for its installation. We handed over ten Volkswagen Transporters to the servicemen for these needs. Metinvest also purchased Autel aerial reconnaissance equipment, equipped with thermal imagers, and ambulances that will save the lives of wounded fighters,” he noted.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest Group purchased and handed over 17 large-format monitors for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). They will display digital maps of the current situation on the front lines.

Also, since February 24, 2022, Metinvest Group has allocated more than UAH 3.1 billion to help the country, more than UAH 1.6 billion of which is for the needs of the army within the framework of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative. During the year of the war, Metinvest became one of the largest private donors of the Ukrainian army. The defenders of the country received 25,000 helmets and more than 150,000 body armors from the company.
