Metinvest handed over 400 cars and 1.2 million liters of fuel to the defense forces of Ukraine

During the 16 months of the full-scale war, the defenders of Ukraine received 411 vehicles of various purposes and 1.2 million liters of fuel from the Metinvest group as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s «Steel Front» military initiative. Metinvest.Media informs about it. In total, the company allocated UAH 2 billion to support the military.

At the beginning of the full-scale war, it was mainly special equipment from the company’s enterprises. Trucks, bulldozers, excavators and dump trucks helped build fortifications around cities.

Metinvest organized the delivery of machines from abroad. The company brings pickup trucks, four-wheel drive jeeps and minibuses to Ukraine, which help the defenders of the country. The company provides specialized ambulances to evacuate the wounded.

One of the last parties of ambulances – 30 cars delivered from Italy – went to the military medics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The total cost of the machines was UAH 18 million. All the transferred cars are in good condition, they have been repaired and technically improved. In June, the company also handed over 5 pickups for State Border Service of Ukraine. They will allow mobile response and monitoring teams to move quickly between positions.

In addition, Metinvest has already provided the military with 1.2 million liters of gasoline and diesel fuel for refueling vehicles.

«We made sure that the defenders had cars and full tanks of fuel. This war is built on mobility and the ability to outrun the enemy. That is why we also provide the military with technological drones and thermal imagers. And while the defenders defend the independence of our country on the front lines, Metinvest is their reliable support in the approach of Ukraine’s victory,» noted Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest Group.

Another important area of assistance to the army is strengthening the protection of military transport. In particular, Metinvest specialists developed armored shields for operators of large-caliber weapons. The company also manufactures protective elements for vehicles operating in the line of fire from special steel.

The employees of the enterprises are directly involved in providing the defenders with transport. For example, the specialists of the Ingulets GOK transformed the former mobile dining room into a mobile bathhouse. It was transferred to the Arey battalion. In addition, the fighters received a truck. In their spare time, Zaporizhstal employees participate in the restoration of military equipment at specialized repair sites.

As GMK Center reported earlier, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Metinvest Group directed UAH 3.7 billion to help the state and its citizens, more than UAH 2 billion of which are for the needs of the army through Rinat Akhmetov’s «Steel Front» military initiative. During the year of the war, Metinvest became one of the largest private donors of the Ukrainian army. The defenders of Ukraine received 25,000 helmets and more than 150,000 body armors from the company.
