Lemtrans paid about UAH 929 million in taxes in 2023

Lemtrans, Ukraine’s largest private freight transportation operator, paid UAH 929 million in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels of Ukraine in 2023. This is stated in the company’s press release.

In particular, UAH 840 million was transferred to the state budget and more than UAH 88 million to local budgets. The single social contribution (SSC) amounted to approximately UAH 64 million.

In addition, during the full-scale invasion, Lemtrans allocated more than UAH 41 million to support the army and the population of Ukraine, as well as charitable projects. The company provided vehicles, quadcopters, Starlink terminals, bulletproof vests, stoves, etc. to the military.

Investments in the country’s infrastructure and logistics projects amounted to over UAH 160 million, including more than UAH 153 million in the terminal and container business.

«The development of the container terminal in Mostyska (a partnership project) continued, and a decision was made to start design work on two more new container terminals to be located in Ukraine. An investment program is also being implemented to further improve the efficiency and increase the productivity of railcar repair facilities,» the company adds.

In 12 months of 2023, the volume of scheduled and current repairs of freight cars at Lemtrans’ car repair site amounted to 5.22 thousand units.

It should be noted that the company’s total transportation volume last year amounted to approximately 17 million tons of cargo. Coal accounted for 13.5 million tons, construction materials – 2.9 million tons, and iron ore – 0.4 million tons.

«Yes, business still depends on the potential threat of destruction of the frontline industry, logistical bottlenecks such as ports and congestion at the EU border. However, despite the war, we are not stopping and are focused on the development of Ukraine. Our investment activities were an important area of focus over the past year. We are investing in new infrastructure projects, such as the terminal and container business,» said Volodymyr Mezentsev, CEO of the company.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2022, Lemtrans paid UAH 1.3 billion in taxes to the budgets of all levels, including UAH 1.2 billion to the state budget and UAH 95 million to the local budget. UAH 22 million was allocated to help the army and the population of Ukraine. Last year, the company transported 1.64 million tons of iron ore, while ferrous metals were transported at 480 thousand tons.
