In January-June 2022, the Ukrainian company Interpipe reduced steel production by 36% compared to the same period in 2021 – to 286,000 tons. The company’s website reports about it.
The production of railway products decreased by 50% y/y in six months – to 40,000 tons. The output of pipes in January-June 2022 fell by 19% y/y – to 205 thousand tons.
In the second quarter of 2022, 123 thousand tons of steel were produced, which is 24.5% less compared to the previous quarter. The company reduced the output of railway products by 56.5% q/q. During this period, the production of pipes increased by 17% compared to the first quarter of 2022 – up to 110,000 tons.

The main directions of pipes sales are Europe (35.5%), the American continent (25.4%), Ukraine (18.3%) and the MENA region (17.8%).
Sales of railway products – wheels, rims, axles and wheel pairs – in January-June 2022 decreased by 49.4% compared to the same period of 2021 – to 42 thousand tons. The sales of pipes products decreased by 22.9% y/y – to 198 thousand tons.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2021, Interpipe increased production of steel by 28.1% compared to 2020 – up to 971,000 tons. Production of railway products decreased by 9.7% y/y – to 172.1 thousand tons, and pipes production increased by 32.5% y/y – up to 614.8 thousand tons.
