Interpipe celebrates 5 years on the market of products for the Iberian gauge

At the end of 2019, the Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe made the first delivery of ULT SP wheelsets under the KLW brand for railways with Iberian gauge. Over the past five years, the company has shipped more than 7,800 of these wheelsets for European rail traffic, which confirms the high demand for this product, according to a press release.

The ULT SP wheelset is part of the Ultimate line of low-load railway products for freight cars. It was specially designed for railways with a track gauge of 1668 mm, which is 233 mm wider than the standard European gauge. Compliance with the latest standards for freight wheels and axles, as well as the special requirements of the Spanish and Portuguese rail markets, ensured the product’s success among customers.

By expanding its technological capabilities, Interpipe has further strengthened its position not only as a manufacturer but also as a developer of innovative wheel, axle and wheelset designs. The Ultimate line is in demand in many European countries, including operators of various types of railways.

Thanks to the successful development of the niche market, the company continues to expand its presence in Europe. In the future, Interpipe plans to expand its product range for the railway industry, taking into account the growing demands of European operators and infrastructure companies.

Despite the military challenges, Interpipe continues to invest in its production facilities. During the war, the company invested more than $83 million in product quality and new production lines, including a pipe rolling shop in Nikopol. The company is committed to meeting the demands of customers around the world.

Interpipe is an international vertically integrated pipe and wheel company that ranks among the top 10 seamless pipe producers in the world and among the top 3 producers of all-rolled railway wheels.
