Zaporizhkoks PrJSC of Metinvest Group, one of the largest producers of coke for metallurgy in Ukraine, increased blast furnace coke production by 4.3% in January 2025 compared to January 2024, up to 74.36 thousand tons. This is stated in the company’s press release.
Compared to the previous month, Zaporizhkoks slightly increased its output by 0.3%.
In 2024, the company increased coke production by 2.1% compared to 2023 – up to 874.6 thousand tons.
In the fourth quarter, the company produced 219.36 thousand tons of metallurgical coke (+2.3% y/y; -0.3% q/q). In the third quarter, this volume was 220.1 thousand tons. tons (+2% y/y; -0.1% q/q), 220.36 thousand tons (+2.3% y/y; +2.6% qoq) in the second quarter, and 214.82 thousand tons (+1.7% y/y) in the first quarter. The average monthly production in 2024 was 72.89 kt compared to 71.41 kt in 2023.
Since 2022, the company has allocated over UAH 360 million for the capital upgrade of the coke shop’s furnace stock. Most of the funds were invested in the overhaul of coke oven batteries No. 2 and No. 5-6. The latest investment projects include the overhaul of coke ejector No. 3 at coke oven battery (COB) No. 5-6 and the overhaul of the U-30 charge feeding line in the coal preparation shop.
