USA canceled anti-dumping measures on the import of twisted wire from Ukraine

The U.S. Department of Commerce has canceled restrictive duties on imports of twisted wire originating in Ukraine following an administrative review of anti-dumping measures. This is stated in a message from the Ministry of Economy to domestic exporters.

The Ministry of Economy noted that the decision to cancel the anti-dumping measure applied to Ukrainian steel products was made by the US Department of Commerce for the first time in the history of our country. It is dated mid-November 2023.

According to the results of the administrative review, the dumping margin on imports of twisted wire from Ukraine was set at 0%, while before that it was 19.3% and was in effect since 2021.

According to the Department of Foreign Economic Activity and Trade Protection of the Ministry of Economy, there are currently 7 anti-dumping measures against imports from Ukraine. They relate to such goods as ferrosilicon manganese, rebar, hot-rolled flat steel coils, hot-rolled carbon flat steel coils not in coils, steel pipes, carbon and alloy steel wire rod, and seamless pipes.

At the same time, on November 1, 2023, the U.S. International Trade Commission began reviewing the anti-dumping measures on imports of ferrosilicon manganese, rebar and bars of carbon and alloy steel originating in Ukraine to the U.S. market due to the expiration of their application.

In July 2023, the US International Trade Commission made a final decision to extend the current anti-dumping and countervailing duties on imports of carbon and alloy steel wire rod from 10 countries, including Ukraine. The dumping margin for Ukrainian products is currently 44.03%. The US duties on imports of these products were first introduced in 2018.
