Ukrainian Railways registered freight company in Poland

Ukrainian Railways (UZ) registered the limited liability company UKRAINIAN RAILWAYS CARGO POLAND in Poland. Rail.Insider reports about it with a link to rejestr.io.

The company’s registration date is June 30, 2023. The amount of authorized capital is PLN 5,000 (approximately UAH 45,500).

It is noted that the company’s office is located in Warsaw, and Mykhailo Plastun is a member of the board.

Previously, the deputy director of UZ commercial work department Valeriy Tkachev reported that by the end of the year the company plans to register a new asset – a foreign carrier/operator that will work in EU countries. The decision to create it was approved at the level of the Supervisory Board of Ukrainian Railways and the board of the company. Work is currently underway on the registration of a non-resident company and the preparation of the necessary package of permit documents.

The first country of operation of the new carrier company from UZ will be Poland. The issue of launching a similar service in Slovakia and Hungary is also being studied. This will enable the company to expand its offer, as shippers will be able to purchase a comprehensive forwarding service for the transportation of goods both within the territory of Ukraine and EU countries in a single window.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in June 2023, UZ reduced export shipments of ferrous metals by 19.9% compared to May 2023 – to 378,000 tons. Transportation of iron ore for export increased by 3.8% m/m – up to 1.43 million tons.
