Ukrainian infrastructure losses estimated $62.6 billion, KSE Institute

During March 10-17 damage to Ukrainian infrastructure in war increased by UAH 330 billion, or $8.3 billion, to UAH 1.8 trillion ($62.6 billion).

It is reported by the Interfax Ukraine with the reference to a joint study by the KSE Institute, the Economic Strategy Center, and Prozorro.Sale.

Since the beginning of Russian invasion to Ukraine on February 24, 2022, at least 411 educational institutions, 36 heathcare institutions, 1,600 residental buidings, 26 factories, or their plants, several thermal, and hydroelctric power plants, etc, according to calculations of KSE Institute.

Moreover, over 15,000 km of roads, 5,000 km of railways have been destroyed, 15 airports, 350 bridges, and bridge crossings were destroyed, or laid out, etc.

The KSE explains that calculations are based on an analysis of several thousand public reports by citizens, government, and local authorities about loss, and damage throughout the country.

As a reminder, as of March 16, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers preliminaryly evaluates Ukrainian losses from the Russian aggression at $500 billion.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Army had destroyed 3,500 infrastructure facilities. Including 230 transport infrastructure facilities, 165 public life support facilities, such as electrical sustations, and gas pipelines, 72 educational institutions, 21 healthcare institutions, 2,700 residental buildings, 10 social institutions. As well as more than 400 facilities of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, etc.
