Ukraine’s trade turnover amounted to $81.9 billion in January-September

Ukraine’s trade turnover in January-September 2024 amounted to $81.9 billion. This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service.

During the first 9 months of 2024, Ukraine imported goods worth $51.2 billion and exported goods worth $30.7 billion. At the same time, taxed imports amounted to $42.5 billion, which is 83% of the total volume of imported goods.

Among the countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods: China – $10.3 billion, Poland – $5 billion, and Germany – $3.9 billion. Ukraine exported the most goods to Poland – $3.6 billion, Spain – $2.1 billion, and Germany – $2.1 billion.

In January-September 2024, the total volume of goods imported accounted for 65%:

  • machines, equipment and transport – $17.7 billion;
  • products of the chemical industry – $8.8 billion;
  • fuel and energy products – $6.8 billion.

The top three most exported goods from Ukraine were food products ($17.9 billion), steel and steel products ($3.4 billion), and mineral machinery, equipment and transport ($2.5 billion).

During the customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties, UAH 217.9 million was paid to the budget.

In 2023, Ukraine’s trade turnover amounted to $99.4 billion. In particular, the country imported goods worth $63.5 billion and exported goods worth $36 billion. Taxed imports amounted to $52.6 billion, which is 83% of the total volume of imported goods. The largest share of imports was accounted for by machinery, equipment and transport ($19.8 billion), and exports were food products ($21.8 billion).
