In January 2024, Ukraine’s trade turnover increased by 7% compared to January 2023 – to $8.5 billion. This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service.
In January, Ukraine imported $5.1 billion worth of goods and exported $3.4 billion. At the same time, taxed imports amounted to $4.5 billion, which is 90% of the total volume of imported goods.
The countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods were: China – $1.1 billion, Poland – $568 million, and Germany – $388 million. Ukraine exported the most goods to Poland – $334 million, Spain – $322 million, and China – $305 million.
In January 2024, the total volume of goods imported accounted for 67%:
The top three most exported goods from Ukraine were food products – $2.2 billion, steel products – $362 million, and mineral products – $312 million.
UAH 23.7 million was paid to the budget during customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties.
In 2023, Ukraine’s trade turnover amounted to $99.4 billion. In particular, the country imported $63.5 billion worth of goods and exported $36 billion. Taxed imports amounted to $52.6 billion, which is 83% of the total volume of imported goods. The largest share of imports was accounted for by machinery, equipment and transport ($19.8 billion), and exports were food products ($21.8 billion).
