Ukraine’s revenues from exports of metals jumped by 30% in Q1

Revenues of Ukrainian steelmaking companies from exports of ferrous metals in January–March 2021 surged by 30% to $2.67 billion compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the customs statistics.

In March, Ukrainian steelmaking companies exported ferrous metals worth $1.16 billion. This is 74.9% up from March 2020.

The share of ferrous metals in the structure of Ukraine’s export revenues in 3M 2021 amounted to 19.4% against 16.7% in 3M 2020.

At the same time, in Q1, Ukraine cut imports of the same products by 4.5% to $214.21 million.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2020 Ukrainian steelmaking companies cut ferrous metals export revenues by 11.9% to $7.69 billion against 2019. Imports of these products fell by 15.1% to $1.280 billion.
