Ukraine’s revenues from exports of metals jumped 80% in 3Q

In January–September 2021, Ukrainian steelmaking companies boosted revenues from exports of ferrous metals by 79.7% to $10.33 billion compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the customs statistics.

In September 2021, revenues from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $1.39 billion, 1.8% up from September 2020.

At the same time, imports of ferrous metals increased by 42.4% to $1.08 million in 3Q and totaled $181.7 in September alone, 70.6% up from September last year.

As reported earlier, in 2020, Ukrainian steelmaking companies cut ferrous metals export revenues by 12% to $7.7 billion. Imports fell by 17% to $1.4 billion over the same period.
