Ukraine’s revenues from exports of ferrous metals declined by 50% in 5M

Revenues of Ukrainian steelmaking companies from exports of ferrous metals in January–May rose by 49.1% to $4.92 billion y-o-y, according to the customs statistics of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

In May, revenues from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $1.19 billion.

The share of ferrous metals in the structure of Ukraine’s foreign currency earnings in January–May increased to 19.96% against 16.86% in 5M of the past year.

In January–May, imports of ferrous metals increased by 16.3% to $440 million and amounted to $115.04 million in May.

In 2020, revenues from exports of ferrous metals from Ukraine fell by 11.9% to $7.69 billion compared to the same period a year earlier.
