In January-September 2025, Ukraine’s ferroalloy enterprises exported 77.51 thousand tons of products, compared to 59.17 thousand tons (+31% y-o-y) during the same period in 2024. This is evidenced by GMK Center’s calculations based on data from the State Customs Service.
The largest consumers of ferroalloy products during the period were: Algeria – 18.28 thousand tons, Poland – 21.32 thousand tons (+50.7% y/y), Turkey – 15.94 thousand tons (+4.2% y/y), and Italy – 10.54 thousand tons (-12.6% y/y).
In September of this year, the indicator fell by 63.5% compared to the previous month, and by 41.2% y/y – to 3.74 thousand tons – the minimum since April 2024. During the month, Poland imported 1.25 thousand tons of Ukrainian products (-72% month-on-month), Italy – 0.2 thousand tons (-91% month-on-month), Turkey – 1.5 thousand tons (0.02 thousand tons in August). No deliveries were made to Algeria.
During the third quarter, ferroalloy exports fell by 34.9% compared to the same period in 2024 and by 16.1% compared to the previous quarter, to 22.74 thousand tons.
Export revenue for January-September 2025 increased to $86.93 million compared to $70.96 million a year earlier. In Q3, the figure decreased by 38% y/y and 18.3% q/q – to $25.8 million, and in September by 61.7% m/m and 39.7% y/y – to $4.31 million.
In 2024, Ukraine’s ferroalloy plants reduced their output by 49.4% y/y – to 108.2 thousand tons. The industry resumed operations in April-May after a forced shutdown in the fall of 2023.
Thus, ferroalloy exports for the year decreased by 77.5% compared to 2023, from 344.17 thousand tons to 77.32 thousand tons. In 2022, this figure was 349,560 tons, and in 2021, it was 668,540 tons.
The key consumers of Ukrainian-made ferroalloy products last year were Poland – 20,940 tons (189,340 tons in 2023), Turkey – 45.69 thousand tons (45.69 thousand tons), Italy – 16.96 thousand tons (18.74 thousand tons).
