In October, Ukrainian mining & metals companies decreased exports of semi-finished products by 3.7% to 689.1 thousand tons against October last year. In monetary terms, exports of semi-finished products shrank by 5.4% to $259.1 million, according to the customs statistics.
In January–October 2020, Ukrainian steelmaking companies cut their revenue from exports of semi-finished products by 8.1% to $2.3 billion y-o-y.
In 10M, Ukrainian steelmakers exported 6.4 million tons of semi-finished products. This is 5.6% up from January–October last year.
The main export markets for Ukrainian semi-finished products were Italy (25.8%), Turkey (15.9%), and China (10.3%).
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2019, exports of semi-finished products from Ukraine dropped by 4.8% to $2.9 billion against 2018. Conversely, exports of semi-finished products in physical terms grew by 12% to 7.47 million tons.
