Ferroalloy enterprises of Ukraine in January-June 2022 reduced output by 23.6% compared to the same period last year – up to 317.1 thousand tons. This was reported by the Interfax-Ukraine with the reference to the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFP).
For six months, the production of silicomanganese decreased by 12.9% – to 279.9 thousand tons, ferromanganese – by 63.9%, to 18.5 thousand tons. In addition, the production of ferrosilicon (in terms of 45%) decreased by 57.4% – up to 16.6 thousand tons, metal manganese by 49.7% – up to 1.52 thousand tons.
Pokrov and Marganets Mining and Processing Plants for 6 months in total produced 639.6 thousand tons of manganese concentrate, which is 21.3% lower compared to the same period last year. At the same time, Marganets Mining produced 251.98 thousand tons of concentrate (-2.9%), Pokrov Mining – 387.6 thousand tons (-29.9%).
In January-June, Pokrov Mining also produced 29.5 thousand tons of iron ore sinter (-80.7%) and delivered it to the Dnipro Metallurgical Plant.
As GMK Center reported earlier, Ukraine in 2021 increased ferroalloys production by 15% compared to 2020 – to 858.7 thousand tons, but reduced the production of manganese concentrate by 6.6%, to 1.76 million tons.
