In January-June 2022, Ukrainian enterprises reduced the export of ferroalloys by 27.2% compared to the same period in 2021, to 232.6 thousand tons, according to the State Customs Service data.
In monetary terms, exports of products, on the contrary, increased by 2%, to $420.5 million.
The share of ferroalloys in Ukraine’s total foreign trade amounted to 1.85%. The main export directions were Poland (55.83%), the Netherlands (9.72%) and Romania (7.05%).
After the invasion of Russia into the territory of Ukraine, domestic metals enterprises reduced production to a minimum or stopped it completely. According to the results of the first quarter, Ukrainian ferroalloy enterprises reduced the production of ferroalloys by 2%, to 186 thousand tons. According to the results of January-April, export decreased by 89%, to 220.2 thousand tons.
Also, Ukrainian mining & metals companies in January-June reduced export of iron ore and iron ore concentrates by 24% compared to the same period in 2021 to 17.01 million tons.
Earlier GMK Center reported, that in 2021 Ukraine increased export of ferroalloys by 7% compared to 2020, to 668.5 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the export of ferroalloys decreased by 82.7%, to $1.04 billion.
Ferroalloys are produced in Ukraine by Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant , Zaporizhzhia Ferroalloy Plant , Pobuzhsky Ferronickel Plant, Kramatorsk Ferroalloy Plant, Pokrov GOK (Mining and Processing Plant) , Marganets GOK (Mining and Processing Plant) and Elektrostal.
