The European Commission (EC) has announced the start of an anti-dumping investigation into the import of bars from Turkiye and China. SteelOrbis reports about it.
The investigation was initiated by the Spanish rolling company Laminados Losal, which claims that imports of bars from Turkiye and China are dumping and has provided relevant evidence. The investigation will cover the period from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022.
The examination of the effects that dumping may have caused will cover the period from 1 January 2022 to the end of the investigation period.
The products subject to the anti-dumping duty investigation are flat bars of non-alloy steel up to 204 mm wide (7216.50.91).
As GMK Center reported earlier, the European Commission (EC) decided to introduce anti-dumping duties on of corrosion-resistant steel supplies from Russia and Turkiye for a 5 years period. Products from the Russian Federation are subject to customs duty in the amount of 10.3-37.4%, and Turkish products – from 2.4% to 11%.
Also, at the beginning of November 2022 EC has confirmed the extension of anti-dumping duties on imports of cold-rolled coils (CRC) from China and Russia for another 5 years.
As GMK Center reported before, in mid-March the Council of the European Union agreed the fourth package of restrictive measures against Russia, which provides for a ban on deliveries to the EU of Russian steel products with a total value of €3.3 billion.
