This acquisition represents a strategic move to expand Tenaris' production capacity and product range

Tenaris has announced the completion of a deal to acquire 100% of the shares in Romanian manufacturer Artrom Steel Tubes SA from the American company GLGH Steel. The total value of the deal is €86 million, according to GuruFocus.

The acquisition of Artrom Steel Tubes SA is a strategic move by Tenaris to expand its production capacity and product range in the European industrial sector.

Artrom’s production facilities:

  • the plant in Reșița: production of steel and seamless pipes with an annual capacity of approximately 450,000 tons;
  • the plant in Slatina: seamless pipe rolling capacity of up to 200,000 tons.

By integrating Artrom’s operations, Tenaris aims to improve customer service and strengthen its competitive position in the market. The finalization of the transaction is subject to standard procedures, including approval by EU regulatory authorities and the Romanian government. The process is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Tenaris SA is a leading global manufacturer of steel pipes (including casing pipes) primarily for the oil and gas industry. The company’s market capitalization stands at €30.13 billion. The group operates an integrated network of production, research, and service centers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

As reported by GMK Center, Ukrainian companies have also been actively expanding their presence in Romania recently. Metinvest acquired Tubular Products Iasi S.A., a manufacturer of small-diameter welded pipes. For its part, Interpipe closed a deal to acquire Tubular Products Roman S.A., which specializes in the production of seamless pipes.
