In October 2021, average salaries at coke plants in Ukraine grew by 16.7% to ₴19.4 thousand against the previous month, according to the statistics presented by the Trade Union of Metallurgists and Miners of Ukraine (TUMMU).
In general, salaries in the mining & metals sector of Ukraine increased in all segments in October, specifically:
Compared to October 2020, salaries in the mining industry grew by 10.1%, while salaries in the coke industry remained flat y-o-y. Salaries in the iron and steel, non-ferrous metals and pipes segments rose by 17.2%, 27.2% and 17.8% respectively.
According to the information provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in October, the average salary in the industrial sector was ₴15 thousand (-2.7%) against Ukraine’s average of ₴14.04 thousand (-1.4%). Salaries in the construction industry declined by 4.8% to ₴11.8 thousand. In mechanical engineering, salaries fell by 12% to ₴12.7 thousand, in energy by 9.1% to ₴18.9 thousand.
As reported earlier, in 2020, average salaries in Ukraine’s mining & metals sector of Ukraine increased in almost all segments against 2019. The average salary in the steel industry rose by 3.1% over the year, while salaries at pipe and non-ferrous metals companies slightly decreased.
