Metinvest’s Kryvyi Rih Minings paid UAH 4.7 billion in taxes over 9 months

In January-September 2024, Metinvest Group’s Northern, Central and Ingulets mining and processing plants paid UAH 4.7 billion in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels of Ukraine. This is 2 times higher than in the same period in 2023 (UAH 2.3 billion), Metinvest.Media reports.

Despite the full-scale war and economic challenges, Metinvest’s united mining and processing plant remains one of the largest taxpayers and a strong pillar for Kryvyi Rih and Ukraine.

The main sources of budget revenues from Northern Mining, Central Mining and Ingulets Mining included the subsoil use tax, which amounted to UAH 2.4 billion. They also paid UAH 512 million in unified social tax and UAH 453 million in personal income tax. The list of the largest contributions also includes land and environmental taxes.

“Despite wartime, Metinvest’s mining and processing plants remain not only an economic support for the region but also the largest employer. We continue to implement a veteran policy for defenders who are gradually returning to their jobs from the frontline, retrain our specialists and train new team members, adapt and create the most efficient model of mining enterprises at this time. In addition, the Minings systematically support Kryvyi Rih and the community by implementing joint humanitarian, educational and infrastructure projects,” said Igor Tonev, CEO of Metinvest’s Minings.

As GMK Center reported earlier, including its associates and joint ventures, Metinvest increased its tax payments to the Ukrainian budget by 38% to over UAH 15 billion in 9M2024. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company has allocated over UAH 7.5 billion to help Ukraine and its citizens, including over UAH 4 billion for the needs of the army as part of the Steel Front military initiative.

In 2023, Metinvest Group paid UAH 14.6 billion in taxes and duties to the budgets of all levels in Ukraine. The largest contributions included a unified social contribution of UAH 3.3 billion, income tax of UAH 3.2 billion and personal income tax of over UAH 3 billion.
