Metinvest will allocate UAH 50 million for the development of Kamianske in 2024-2025

Metinvest Group has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Social and Economic Development with the Kamianske City Council. The company will allocate UAH 50 million to help the city. This is stated in the press release of Kametstal.

As part of the agreement, the community will receive UAH 50 million from Metinvest in 2024-2025 to implement socially significant projects in the city. In particular, the funds will be used to co-finance the reconstruction of three hospitals: No. 9, the ambulance service and the primary health care center No. 3. In addition, the latter two hospitals will undergo major repairs to their civil defense facilities with Metinvest’s support, and a new bomb shelter will be built in Lyceum No. 22 to meet modern standards.

«Today, our top priorities are to support the army and help our employees. «Metinvest pays great attention to the development of the towns where its enterprises are located. Kamenskoye is a strong city of strong people, and our mission is to help the city council and citizens become even stronger. The agreement is another page in the book of our strong friendship and fruitful cooperation with the city. Together, we will definitely withstand and win!» emphasized Metinvest Group’s Chief Operating Officer Olexander Mironenko.

In 2023, taxes and fees paid by Kametstal accounted for almost 31% of the city’s total budget revenues. This enables Kamianske to ensure the social life of the community and provide timely funding for socially protected expenditures.

«Our steel enterprise and its stable operation are a support for thousands of families of the townspeople, whose welfare and lives are inextricably linked to Kametstal. Kamenskoye has also become a new home for many metallurgists and coke chemists from Mariupol and the entire Donetsk region, who are now working side by side with the people of Kamenskoye for our common victory. We are proud of our city and strive to make it more comfortable and safe, and this is the main idea behind the Memorandum of Cooperation between Metinvest Group and the city community,» said Olexander Tretyakov, CEO of Kametstal.

Since the beginning of the war, medical facilities in Kamianske have received humanitarian support worth more than UAH 30 million as part of Metinvest’s Saving Lives humanitarian project. In addition, more than 11 thousand aid packages were handed over to the city to be distributed among vulnerable people and large families.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2023, Kametstal increased its tax revenues year-on-year, transferring over UAH 2.154 billion in taxes and fees to budgets of all levels. The budget of the city of Kamianske received almost UAH 605 million, and more than UAH 1.549 billion was paid to the regional and state budgets.
