Metinvest was recognized for its veteran program in the rating of the best employers by Oboz.ua

Metinvest Group has won awards in two nominations of the best employers in Ukraine according to Oboz.ua – “A Place for Heroes” with a veteran program and “A Place for the Ambitious” with Metinvest Polytechnic University and retraining programs. The company said in a statement.

The publication analyzed the conditions offered to Ukrainians by dozens of the largest employers from various industries.

Thus, when determining the winners in the “Place for Heroes” nomination, the magazine took into account training and retraining programs, the creation of veteran communities, and care for veterans. DTEK was recognized in the nomination along with Metinvest.

Metinvest is one of the largest employers in Ukraine and a leader among companies that employ veterans. According to Korn Ferry, the group accounts for almost a third of veterans who have returned to work for large businesses. Currently, about 8,000 employees of the company serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and about 1,000 veterans have already returned to its enterprises.

The Group has developed a comprehensive ecosystem for the reintegration of former military personnel, which includes support in all areas. Its areas of focus include health and well-being, training for veterans, legal and financial assistance, social support, and preparation of managers and teams for the return of former military personnel.

The company’s enterprises have introduced retraining and professional adaptation programs, which are also available to veterans who cannot return to their jobs for health reasons.

Metinvest takes care of mobilized employees and their families. All mobilized employees will keep their jobs. We pay for treatment and help with prosthetics for those who are seriously injured. Under the program of prosthetics, rehabilitation and surgery, 136 defenders and civilian Ukrainians, including mobilized employees, received help.

Metinvest shared the top spot with OKKO and Nova Poshta in the “Place for the Ambitious” nomination. As noted, the main components of the victory were the best conditions for career growth, as well as corporate education and training programs, in particular, the opening of Metinvest Polytechnic University.

Since 2022, more than 1080 people have become students of the university, and more than 4.3 thousand people have taken advanced training courses and trainings. In total, more than 5 thousand people have already completed all programs since the university opened. Last year, 26 veterans – employees of Metinvest’s enterprises and defenders of Mariupol – started their bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the university. In 2025, we plan to increase the number of external students from 20% to 40%.

As GMK Center rpeorted earlier, Metinvest has allocated UAH 8.4 billion to support Ukraine over the three years of the full-scale war. The company continues to help the army, support the economy and prepare for post-war recovery
