Metinvest was placed in the list of 50 top steel-producing companies

According to the World Steel Association’s website, Metinvest Holding, the managing company of the Metinvest Group, was ranked 42nd out of 50 top steel-producing companies in 2019.

According to the ranking made by the World Steel Association, Metinvest Holding produced 9.58 million tons of steel in 2019.

The first three top steel-producing companies in 2019 are as follows:

  • ArcelorMittal — 97.31 million tons;
  • China Baowu Group — 95.47 million tons;
  • Nippon Steel Corporation — 51.68 million tons.

As reported earlier, in 2019, the global steel output grew by 3.4% against 2018. In 2019, Ukraine cut steel production by 1.2% to 20.8 million tons.

Metinvest Holding LLC is the managing company of the Metinvest Group. The major shareholders of Metinvest are its co-managing companies SKM Group (71.24%) and Smart Holding (23.76%).

In 2019,  the Metinvest Group boosted production of steel by 3% to 7.6 million tons against the previous year. Production of pig iron dropped by 3% to 7.9 million tons.
