Metinvest sent 2,700 bulletproof vests and helmets to Ukraine’s Armed Forces

Ukrainian steel and mining group Metinvest sent the fourth package of its help to Ukrainian Armed Forces. It included 2,700 bulletproof vests and helmets, company’s statement on Facebook reads.

Ukrainian soldiers in Kyiv and Izium, Kharkiv region, has received the tactical items. In total, 4,000 of such sets have been sent to the combat areas in Ukraine.

“Such deliveries from abroad are regular. Body armor and helmets is distributed to the Armed Forces in strategic regions. Drones, quadcopters and medical supplies are also expected to be delivered to help the military,” the statement reads.

As reported by GMK Center, earlier Metinvest announced it will donate 900 tons of steel for the production of approximately 80,000 bulletproof vests for Ukrainian Armed and Territorial Defense Forces. The company also bought 10,000 tons of bulletproof vests abroad. In total, 90,000 bulletproof vests will cover a significant part of military needs.

Earlier, Metinvest spent €10 million on protection items for Ukrainian Territorial Defense: body armor, helmets and first aid kits. The company also donated $500,000 for protective armor and first aid kits for the defenders of Zaporizhzhia, big South-Eastern Ukrainian city.
