Metinvest ranked among Forbes’ top 30 best employers for veterans

The company's budget for veteran support and adaptation programs is approximately $550,000

Metinvest Group has been named one of the 30 best employers for veterans in Ukraine in 2025 by Forbes Ukraine.

Of the company’s nearly 50,000 employees, more than 8,000 serve in the Armed Forces. A coordinator at the corporate center and one representative at each of the group’s enterprises are responsible for the reintegration of veterans.

According to the publication, the company has one of the largest corporate veteran communities, with nearly 1,000 demobilized employees. The budget for veteran support and adaptation programs is approximately $550,000, with the largest items of expenditure being the development of training programs, psychological assistance, and summer recreation for children.

The group’s veterans have the opportunity to study at Metinvest Polytechnic, where they can obtain a higher education, a related specialty, or improve their qualifications. Retraining and professional adaptation programs are also available.

A psychophysical rehabilitation program called Veteran Camping has been developed at the sanatorium, where veterans undergo health procedures and work with psychologists and mentors. Another tool for mental recovery is the Pobratim classes, where former military personnel share their experiences with each other.

It should be noted that in order to compile a list of top employers for veterans, the publication sent questionnaires to 240 companies with more than 600 employees. Of the hundred that responded, 67 were surveyed. In the first stage, 20 companies with weaker programs were eliminated, and the rest were evaluated by a jury. The jury included representatives from Korn Ferry, the patronage service of the Charter and Angels brigades (3rd OSBr), the Office of Veterans and Their Families at UCU, Veteran Hub, Unbroken, the HRD club project, and Forbes Ukraine.

It should be noted that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has allocated UAH 9.72 billion to support the state and Ukrainians, of which UAH 5.2 billion has been allocated to the army as part of the Steel Front military initiative.
