Metinvest Group, within the framework of the «Steel Front» military initiative, purchased 15 satellite artillery fire guidance systems for Ukrainian defenders, spending about 9 million UAH for these needs. This is stated in the Metinvest.Media’s press release.
“The war of the 21st century is a confrontation between technology and equipment: the more modern equipment the army has, the higher its chances of victory. Metinvest helps the Ukrainian military to be one step ahead of the enemy. The company systematically supplies reconnaissance and modern devices for conducting special operations to the front,” the message says.
This equipment is used to correct artillery strikes. It is equipped with satellite communication, a thermal imager, a range finder and a gsm module. The average cost of one such complex is approximately UAH 600,000.
“There are almost no such devices left in Europe. We transported this equipment for more than four months from different countries of the world. Metinvest Group perfectly understands how important it is to help the defenders of Ukraine, therefore, within the framework of the «Steel Front» military initiative, it buys for the military exactly what gives them a significant advantage on the battlefield,” commented the head of the project office of Metinvest’s CEO Oleksandr Vodoviz.
As GMK Center reported earlier, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Metinvest Group has handed over 150,000 body armors to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, every tenth body armor in the Armed Forces is made of Metinvest steel or purchased by the Group.
In general, since the beginning of the war, the amount of assistance from Metinvest to Ukraine and Ukrainians has reached more than UAH 2 billion. 1.3 billion of them is directed to support the army and help the military.
