Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia produced 193 thousand tons of coal concentrate in April

Svyato-Varvarinska Enrichment Plant, part of Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia, produced 193 thousand tons of coal concentrate in April 2024, fulfilling the monthly plan. This is stated in the company’s press release.

«No one knows when the war will end. But life, no matter how difficult it is today, still has to be lived. «Metinvest Pokrovskugol has not stopped for a single day. We have the most dedicated people in our team. We are not slowing down,» the statement said.

Last month, Pokrovsk Mine also completed the preparation of 2.4 km of transportation route to ensure the outflow of rock mass. The main feature of the new conveyor chain is full automation, and the presence of video cameras allows you to monitor the operation of the conveyor line remotely.

Currently, the installation of the 1st southern longwall of block 10 is underway – the total length of the walkway is 290 meters, of which more than 100 meters have already been prepared. In addition, the 11th unit is under construction.

As of mid-April, Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia produced 1.24 million tons of coal. By the end of 2024, the group plans to produce 5.3 million tons of coal and commission two more longwall faces.

On February 21. 2024, the company commissioned the 11th longwall for coking coal production in the 10th block of Pokrovsk Mine.

Despite the difficult mining and geological conditions, the 11th longwall, 242 meters long, is one of the most promising areas of work. Its reserves amount to 993 thousand tons of coal. The miners plan to produce up to 2.5 thousand tons of coal per day from this face. It is expected that the longwall reserves will take more than a year to be developed.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia produced 3.1 million tons of coal concentrate in 2023 and sank 20 km of mine workings.
