The main volume of raw materials was mined by site No. 7

Pokrovsk Coal Group, a part of Metinvest Group (Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia), has produced 1.24 million tons of coal since the beginning of 2024. This is stated in a press release on the company’s Facebook page.

The bulk of the raw materials was produced by Longwall No. 7. The miners are working the 6th longwall of the southern panel of block No. 10.

«Now the face has entered the area of mining and geological disturbance, which means two step discharges. It has entered from the upper part and will pass through the entire face line. And despite these obstacles, the miners are not slowing down,» the statement said.

Section No. 3 is working steadily in the first southern face of block No. 9. In April, they are preparing to enter the ventilation face, which is 49 meters away in the upper part of the longwall and 98 meters away in the lower part.

The team of section No. 5 is engaged in coal mining in the 9th longwall of block No. 10. In 13 meters, the team will start working on turning the 60-meter long face line.

At the beginning of the year, Section No. 2 started mining the 11th longwall of Block No. 10. Since leaving the assembly line, the team has been working steadily and increasing its pace.

On February 21 this year, Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia commissioned the 11th longwall for coking coal production in Block 10 of Pokrovsk Mine.

Despite the difficult mining and geological conditions, the 11th longwall, 242 meters long, is one of the most promising areas of work. Its reserves amount to 993 thousand tons of coal. The miners plan to produce up to 2.5 thousand tons of coal per day from this face. It is expected to take more than a year to develop the longwall reserves.

By the end of 2024, the group plans to mine 5.3 million tons of coal, produce 2.8 million tons of concentrate and commission two more longwalls. Since the beginning of the year, the company has already produced more than 1 million tons of coal and produced over 500 thousand tons of concentrate.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest Pokrovskvugillia produced 3.1 million tons of coal concentrate in 2023 and sank 20 km of mine workings.
