Metinvest Group has handed over 25 mobile shelters produced at the company’s enterprises to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This is reported by Metinvest on the Facebook page.
“Ukrainian soldiers continue to show steel endurance, and steelmakers make steel protection for them. 25 mobile shelters, produced at Metinvest enterprises, have already been delivered to different areas of the front,” the message says.
Mobile shelters are special steel structures for protection in trenches, which are full-fledged field housing. Inside them, there is a zone for rest and arranging the minimum living conditions of the military.
The shelter can be delivered to where it is needed in a disassembled form without the use of cargo cranes. At the same time, it is able to withstand the impact of 152-mm artillery shells after diving one and a half meters underground.
Currently, the company plans to produce about 30 shelters every month to save as many lives as possible for defenders on the front lines.
Shelters are given to the military free of charge, as well as all other equipment. The production of one such steel construction costs UAH 200,000.
As GMK Center reported earlier, during the seven months of 2022, the Metinvest-SMC’s bases processed approximately 500 shipments for the needs of the Ukrainian defenders with a total amount of almost 4,000 tons of steel. The company produces from steel many things for the Armed Forces, in particular, plates for body armors, turbo stoves, etc.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Metinvest Group has handed over 150,000 body armors to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Thus, every tenth body armor in the Armed Forces is made of Metinvest steel or purchased by the Group.
