Metinvest donated 20 ambulances to combat medics

Metinvest Group donated 20 specialized ambulances to combat medics of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, corporate Metinvest Media reported.

The total cost of the cars, together with the cost of repairs and delivery to Ukraine, amounted to €300,000.

“Ukrainian volunteers from Naples helped us to find the ambulances. They went to local hospitals and agreed on the purchase and shipment of cars from Europe to Ukraine. This process took approximately two months. For our part, our company took on all the costs of buying, delivering and repairing cars,” said Olexandr Vodoviz, head of the project office of the Metinvest CEO.

Most of the cars were brought from Italy; they have already shown their speed in local medical facilities. They have also been properly maintained and repaired since they were purchased, so they are in good condition and ready to go.

The cars will operate in the hot spots of Ukraine, in particular near Lysychansk and in the south of Ukraine, where they are most needed.

“The importance of special ambulances at the front is hard to overestimate. Rapid evacuation of fighters from the place of injury or stabilization point to the hospital can save their lives and reduce the likelihood of disability. In the war, we are trying to save every soldier, so cars from Metinvest help us with this,” said the military medic of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier GMK Center reported that Metinvest assigned about UAH 100 million to help medical institutions in Ukraine, primarily in the cities where the Group operates. Hospitals in Zaporozhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Avdiivka, Myrnograd, Pokrovske and Kamyanske received the most assistance.

In addition, this month the company donated 120 drones for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with a total value of $500,000, as well as 120 thermal imagers.

The Group also donated 90 Kevlar helmets to the Pokrovske community. Protective ammunition will be provided to workers in the housing and communal sector.
