Lemtrans completes construction of the second stage of the terminal in Vinnytsia

Lemtrans Group has completed the construction of the second stage of its dry port in Vinnytsia, the Container Terminal Vinnytsia (CTV). The facility will become a key logistics link for transportation in the central part of Ukraine, said Andriy Ocheretnyi, Deputy Mayor of Vinnytsia.

“Just yesterday, on Christmas Eve, the first container shipment to Odesa took place,” Ocheretnyi said.

Lemtrans has invested more than $15 million in this facility, including the development of the relevant infrastructure: railways, a container yard, and a warehouse with an area of more than 4,000 square meters.

In general, the capacity of CTV is approximately 20 thousand TEUs per year and is designed to transport such goods as niche grain crops and liquid bulk cargo (including oil).

“With the opening of this port in Vinnytsia, which has a good geographical location, the number of economic ties and opportunities for foreign trade development will increase. It is important that thanks to such platforms, Ukraine can export twice as much as it imports,” summarizes the deputy mayor.

The first stage of the Vinnytsia Container Terminal was opened in early September 2024. As part of this stage, new infrastructure was created: railroad tracks were laid, a container yard with a capacity of up to 2000 TEU was equipped, and a covered warehouse with an area of 3.5 thousand square meters was built. The total area of the terminal is 8 hectares and its throughput capacity is 30 thousand TEU per year.

Lemtrans is the largest private operator of railway rolling stock in Ukraine. The company’s main activities include organizing transportation with its own rolling stock, providing freight forwarding services, providing information support for cargo movement and repairing rolling stock.
