Kiliya SSP has repaired 36 units of the UDP fleet from the beginning of 2022

The Kiliya Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Plant (KSSP), which is a part of Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP), has repaired 36 units of the fleet since the beginning of 2022. This was reported by acting CEO of UDP, Dmytro Moskalenko, on his own Facebook page.

In September 2022, the motor ship «Mechanic Yan» left the slip, on which the propeller complex was repaired, the hull was cleaned and painted, and it was inspected by specialists of the Shipping Register of Ukraine. Also, in September, barges C-414, C-417, C-433, C-436, SLG-015 came out from repair.

Currently, two tugboats, one self-propelled dry cargo vessel, and three barges are undergoing scheduled repairs at the plant’s facilities. The ships are scheduled to came out from repair by the end of October 2022. In November, work on one motor ship and two barges is scheduled to be completed.

In 9 months of 2022, UDP invested more than UAH 75 million in ship repair, and in the third quarter – more than UAH 45 million.

“This is twice as much as a year ago. The increase in the volume of work is now restrained only by the limitations of our production capabilities,” Dmytro Moskalenko summarized.

As GMK Center reported earlier, UDP allowed the Kiliya Shipbuilding and Shiprepair plant to use 1 thousand tons of steel from the unfinished hull of the vessel Captain Stolbovsky, which has been on the enterprise’s slipway for 15 years, for the repair of ships of the shipping company’s fleet.

Also, the UDP has increased the carrying capacity of the fleet by 3 times since the beginning of the war. As part of the fleet repair program, more than 150 fleet units underwent repairs in 6 months, 35 barges, which had been idle for a long time, were put into operation.
