Каметсталь
In February 2023, Kametstal Iron and Steel Works plans to produce 3.9 thousand tons of grinding layers on ball rolling mills. This is stated in the press release on the Facebook page.
“In February, the rolling mills of Kametstal entered into operation with the maximum load of both technological lines. For nine months, only one mill operated periodically at the mill’s spheroidal section. The other day, the rolling mills resumed the production of layers at full capacity,” the message says.
This year’s first batch of layers with a diameter of 30 mm was sent to enterprises in Poland. Currently, the production of grinding layers with a diameter of 40 and 80 mm, necessary for the stable operation of minings of Metinvest, is ongoing. They are used in layer mills for high-quality grinding of iron ore.
“During the period of forced downtime, the rolling mills repaired the equipment of the rolling mills by their own efforts – repaired the main nodes and mechanisms, carried out an audit of the rolling cages and restored the equipment of the heating furnaces of the station,” the plant noted.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2022 Kametstal carried out 80 major repairs in production units. Among the most important works performed by the plant are the overhaul of sintering machine №12 and blast furnace №9, relocation of the coking chambers of coke oven battery №1-bis, restoration of the heating furnace of mill 400/200.
