Kametstal has put into operation a new coal loading machine for coke oven battery No. 5. This is stated in the company’s press release.
The important equipment was manufactured by specialists of the Kryvyi Rih branch of Zaporizhzhia Foundry and Mechanical Plant (ZLMZ).
«Creating the machine was a real challenge for the team. It took six months to develop the technological documentation, after which the technological processes were described. The production involved several stages. We started with the heat-treatment section of the steel-frame foundry, where we cast some parts: brackets, gearbox housings, bushings, half-couplings, etc. These parts were machined by the Zaporizhzhia and Kamianske branches,» the statement said.
The metalwork shop produced the main body of the car – the portal, stainless steel bins for coal charge and the cab. The Mechanical Assembly Shop manufactured more than thirty mechanisms within five months, including movement mechanisms, several types of coke side riser maintenance mechanisms, telescope mechanisms, and installed current collectors and cleaning buffers.
The assembly of the finished steel structure was carried out by the mechanical repair department of the mechanical assembly shop of the Kryvyi Rih branch.
As GMK Center reported earlier, Kametstal has mastered its own production of coil forming tubes for the 400/200 mill’s runner line. This spiral-shaped tube is one of the most important elements of the rotor of the coil former and plays a key role in the process of forming wire rod coils.
